Control and Installation Flexibility Russound’s PlateMate system is designed to minimize your accessories inventory and maximize your flexibility! PlateMate is a modular system, with separate plates and connectors that you actually build to your exact requirements.
Conveniently prepackaged in affordable quantities, our ingenious system includes wallplates in both standard and Decora plates that accommodate one, two, three, four, six or eight audio or video connectors. PlateMate also accommodates one, two or three RJ-11 or RJ- 45 phone jacks as well as a special Satellite TV configuration with two F connectors and one RJ-11, in either Decora or standard. 1. Your choice of a SaphIR IR receiver will take an IR command sent from your remote control and send it down a wire to the source equipment location.

2. This wire is connected to an 857 surface-mount or IRB-6 in-wall IR connecting block. The connecting block receives this IR data from the wire and prepares it to be sent through IR emitters to control your source components.

3. The Russound 845.1 IR emitters plug into the IR connecting block and then attach to the IR receiving window of each source. This allows the IR command sent to be retransmitted to your sources.

IRB-6
IRB-6 is a wall-mounted IR connecting block. Front panel has 4 output jacks for IR emitters, an input jack for a system connection and an input jack for IR system power. A terminal block at the rear of the IRB-6 accepts connections from remotely
located IR receivers. Mounts in a standard single-gang junction box or p-ring and uses standard Decora cover plates.
